This specialized paint is designed primarily for use on school boards and wrought ironwork, offering a dense matte black finish. It’s also suitable for various other surfaces where a similar finish is desired. Made with high-quality pigments mixed in an alkyd medium, it provides excellent coverage and a surface that grips chalk well.
The paint can be applied using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. When necessary, it can be thinned with Crown White Spirit, but it’s important to stir well before use. It dries to a recoatable state in 16 hours and has a spreading capacity of 13-15 square meters per liter on smooth, non-porous surfaces.
Cleanup is easy with Crown White Spirit. It’s available in black and green colors and comes in pack sizes of ½ liter, 1 liter, and 4 liters. This product is sold at Crown Depots in Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu, as well as through Crown Stockists.
For new metal surfaces, it’s recommended to apply one coat of appropriate metal primer followed by two coats of Crown School Board Paint. For new wood surfaces, one coat of Crown Wood Primer followed by two coats of Crown School Board Paint is advised. Previously painted surfaces should be washed with a detergent solution, wiped clean, lightly abraded, and then two coats of Crown School Board Paint can be applied.
