Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, it adheres well to various surfaces including wood, metal, plaster, stone, and asbestos when used over the appropriate primer.
Characteristics:
Manufactured using the finest pigments and extenders, this undercoat incorporates high-quality alkyd resin medium and drying oils, ensuring superior performance and finish.

Application Methods:

Thinning & Mixing:
Thin with Crown White Spirit as needed for easier brushing or for spray applications. Avoid over-thinning. Stir well before use.
Drying Times:
- 12-16 hours
- Re-coatable overnight under normal conditions
Spreading Capacity:
- 13-17 m²/l on smooth, non-porous surfaces

Specifications:
- New Primed Surfaces (Metal, Wood, Plaster, etc.):
- Prepare the surface (refer to relevant surface preparation sheets).
- Apply 1 coat of Crown Undercoat over the appropriate primer.
- For maximum protection, apply a second coat when overcoating a dark primer with a pale undercoat.
- Previously Painted Surfaces (Unsound Condition):
- Prepare the surface and patch prime bare areas with an appropriate primer.
- Apply 1 coat of Crown Undercoat.
- Previously Painted Surfaces (Reasonable Condition):
- Prepare the surface.
- Apply 1 coat of Crown Undercoat.
- Previously Painted Surfaces (Good Condition):
- Rub down with fine sandpaper.
- If the existing gloss or eggshell finish is in good condition, the undercoat can be skipped unless a color change is desired
